Presentation & Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
- The presentations should be pre-recorded.
- All presenters are encouraged to use the .ppt presentation template provided in Templates section below.
- You can use the free version of any of the video conferencing apps to record your presentation – click on the link for each app for instructions: Zoom, WebEx, GoToMeeting. Alternatively, you can add narration to your presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint. We recommend using video conferencing apps so that you can record yourself while presenting.
- Save your video in .mp4 format as 2021_HI-AM Presentation_Last Name.
- There is no limit in the number of slides, however, the maximum length of the videos should be 15 minutes for research/industry presentations and 30 minutes for Keynote presentations. Longer videos will not be accepted.
- Please submit the .mp4 file using the submission tool by May 24, 2021. Even though we have taken every step to ensure the security of the conference platform, please note that the participants might still be able to record or download your presentation video from the conference website. Please ensure there is no confidential information in your presentation.
- Participants would be able to view your recorded presentation at the scheduled time. You should be available in your meeting room for Q&A. The duration of Q&A sessions is 5 minutes for research/industry presentations and 10 minutes for Keynote presentations.
- You will receive an invitation to access the conference online platform and instructions on managing your meeting room closer to the conference date.

- All poster presenters are encouraged to use the .ppt poster template provided in Templates section below.
- Your poster should only consist of one slide. You can add a short narration to your poster using Microsoft PowerPoint. The maximum length of the video should be 5 minutes. Longer videos will not be accepted.
- Save your video in .mp4 format as 2021_HI-AM Poster_Last Name.
- Please submit the .mp4 file using the submission tool by May 24, 2021. Even though we have taken every step to ensure the security of the conference platform, please note that the participants might still be able to record or download your video from the conference website. Please ensure there is no confidential information in your poster.
- Participants would be able to view your poster in our virtual poster gallery. You should be available in your meeting room for Q&A during the poster sessions.
- You will receive an invitation to access the conference online platform and instructions on managing your meeting room closer to the conference date.
- HI-AM 2021 will not publish any proceedings. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference information package.
- Only members of the NSERC HI-AM Network are required to submit a full manuscript using the submission tool by May 31, 2021.
